Jose Navas is a writer and Emmy nominated director hailing from Nicaragua but raised in the city of Miami, Florida. Jose immerses audiences in the lives of characters confronting daunting challenges as they strive to fulfill their deepest desires. He studied film at the Miami International University of Arts and Design, and holds a film directing certification from UCLA. Jose gained recognition for his film "El Balsero" (2019), which received support from Sundance and garnered awards. His award-winning short film, "Beat Lingo," has been distributed through the PBS network and showcased at prestigious institutions like Harvard University and the Lincoln Center in Manhattan.
